10 Best Minimalism TED Talks in 2019

The theme that runs through these minimalism TED Talks is this: the less you own, the more you have.

While that sounds contradictory, think of all the physical items you own, the activities that keep you and your family running all day long, the digital distractions that suck hours out of your life…

The less you own of those things (clothes, notebooks, furniture, soccer practice, gymnastics, Facebook, Instagram, etc), the more time you have to do the things you love and more money (often) will find its way into your savings account.

Enjoy this fantastic list of 10 minimalism TED Talks that will inspire you to save money.

1 – Mark Boyle – The Moneyless Man

2 – The Minimalists – The Art of Letting Go

We found minimalism in 2017 by watching the full-length documentary from Joshua Fields Millburn and Ryan Nicodemus, The Minimalists. Their TED Talk is equally as inspiring and rings in at only 18 minutes. Their book, Minimalism: Live a Meaningful Life, has a similar story to their TED Talk and their documentary, but answers many questions their fans have asked.

3 – Liz Wright – Getting Rid of 1000 Things

4 – Graham Hill – Less Stuff, More Happiness

5 – Kerry Thomas – From Clutter to Clarity

6 – Adam Baker – Sell Your Crap, Pay Your Debt, Do What You Love

7 – Jennifer L. Scott – The 10 Item Wardrobe

Another of my favorite minimalism TED Talks that has stuck with me over the years is from Jennifer L. Scott. She is the author of Lessons from Madame Chic and gives an excellent talk in “The 10 Item Wardrobe”. If you struggle pairing down clothes or purchasing quality items you know will last, this one is for you!

8 – Angela Horn – The Less You Own, The More You Have

9 – Colin Wright – Get Rid of the Unnecessary to Get Down to Basics

10 – Grant Blakeman – Minimalism for a More Full Life
